Hans Braber

Drummer Hans Braber (1954) studied classical percussion at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. With a scholarship he attended the Berklee College of Music in Boston in 1981 and moved to New York for further studies with drummer Mel Lewis. He spent 14 years in Germany (Cologne), where he worked as a freelance musician and teacher at the Rheinische Music school.
During those years he played with Monty Alexander, Lee Konitz, Lalo Schifrin, Benny Bailey and many other German, American and Dutch musicians.
After his return to The Netherlands in 1998 he continued working as a freelance jazzdrummer, teaches and organises a monthly jazzseries in Muzee in Scheveningen/The Hague. He continues his projects as a promoter and toured with the likes of Don Friedman, Larry Coryell, Dena DeRose and maintains the collaboration with Mike LeDonne on piano and on the Hammond Organ.
