Blichta Hoopman was born in Arnhem, The Netherlands, on November 23, 1982, and received her first lessons in violin at the age of six. When she was twelve years old she was accepted at the preparatory courses of the Royal Conservatory, where she then studied with the famous violin professor Qui van Woerdekom. A year later she performed with the Viotta Youth Orchestra in the Hague. She received orchestra experience with the Viotta Youth Orchestra and the Athenaeum Chamber Orchestra under the direction of Alexandru Lascae. With the last mentioned orchestra Blichta was also the concertmaster. In 2002 Blichta won the 1st prize at the finals of the “Princes Christina Concours” in Rotterdam.
She performs in the Netherlands as well as abroad among other places in Paris on an invitation of the Dutch ambassador. In the fall of 2003 she performed in Curaçao and in the summer of 2004 she took part in the international summer course “Mozarteum” in Salzburg, where she followed masterclasses of Mauricio Fuks. She followed also masterclasses of Philippe Graffin and Isabelle van Keulen. In 2006 she received her Bachelor’s degree with honours and in May of 2008 her Master of Music degree with Ilona Sie Dhian Ho and Jaring Walta.
Since October 2006 Blichta is also the first violinist of the gypsy ensemble “Sintiromarus” which she formed herself. In summer 2007 she toured through Southern France with this ensemble.
