Vincent Herring was born in Kentucky (1965) and raised in California. In the early ´80´s he honed his formidable chops in the streets of New York City, an invaluable learning experience of learning songs and interacting with a band. By the late ´80´s he had established a reputation: gigs with Lional Hampton, Freddy Hubbard, Roy Haynes, Art Blakey´s Jazz Messengers and the Horace Silver Quintet. Strongly influenced by Cannonball Adderly, he had a nine-year musical relationship with Nat Adderly, producing nine albums and touring around the world year after year.
He worked and recorded with Cedar Walton for more than 20 years.
Vincent tours frequently around the world with his projects and continues to share his distinct voice and musical knowledge as a performer and jazz educator. He is currently on staff at William Paterson University and the Manhattan School of Music.
